A&D Crafts & Design

A&D was born in 2019 from an idea of CNA Veneto Ovest, on the occasion of ViOff, the Fuori Fiera of VicenzaOro, as an exhibition of Italian manufacturing excellence in the shop windows of the historic center. From textiles to jewelry, many stories to discover around the city’s symbol of craftsmanship: the Basilica Palladiana. In 2020, the project grows thanks to an ESF call from the Veneto Region “Company Ateliers. Work is told – Company Workshops and Ateliers. Routes of discovery of business heritages – 2020.”

Thus began a choral work with a number of artisan enterprises with the aim of helping them enhance their heritage and lay the foundation for a virtual diffuse museum of artisan culture. The project was conducted by Ecipa and CNA Veneto Ovest with a number of network partners: AiCC Italian Association of Ceramic Cities, the Nove Terra di Ceramica Association, the City of Bassano del Grappa, the City of Malo with Musei Alto Vicentino, the City of Nove, Corart Consorzio Artigianato Artistico Vicenza, the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte, the Liceo Artistico G. De Fabris of Nove and Ca’ Foscari University. A&D has created opportunities for dialogue and training by fostering the generational transfer of know-how to new generations and promoting technological innovation.
Today the business is growing thanks to the new project ARTIGIANATO E DESIGN – The Culture of Manufacturing and the Artistic Heritage of the Territory, promoted by CNA Veneto Ovest and developed thanks to the contribution of the Vicenza CCIAA and EBAV Ente Bilaterale dell’Artigianato Veneto. Project partners are the municipalities of Vicenza, Bassano del Grappa, Thiene, Recoaro Terme together with Corart, Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte, Vicenza è, Museo del Gioiello di Vicenza, Musei Alto Vicentino, Associazione Nove Terra di ceramica and Ecipa Veneto.

Promoting, protecting and reinvigorating the legacy of these excellences is a civic duty.
